HONOLULU (AP) _ An attorney for two passengers on board a tour helicopter that crashed last year on Kauai says they’ve reached a settlement with two manufacturers.
Attorney Rick Fried says he’ll provide details Monday. He says they’ve resolved the case for “nearly eight figures.”
Judy L. Barton was paralyzed from the waist down in the March 11, 2007 crash. Her husband, Douglas W. Barton, suffered a broken arm.
The couple is from Newport, N.H.
Another passenger died in the accident. The pilot was treated for minor injuries.
A National Transportation Safety Board report says the helicopter lost its tail rotor and entered into a tight spin, crashing into a YMCA camp.
