A Hawaii collision recently occurred that sent one person to the hospital. Car accidents that involve mopeds often result in injuries to the moped riders. In this case, a 15-year-old boy was involved in the crash and is reported to still be receiving medical care.

The accident took place on a recent Wednesday evening. It occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m. at the intersection of North King and Umi streets. According to police reports issued in the aftermath of the collision, the young operator of the moped had been traveling on North King Street.

A man who was said to have been behind the wheel of a delivery truck at the time apparently turned into the direct path of the moving moped. A collision occurred between the two vehicles. The boy was reportedly ejected from the seat of his moped. Medical rescue workers who responded to the crash transported him to an area hospital with serious injuries.

An updated report has listed the injured moped driver’s condition as critical. In Hawaii, some attorneys are experienced in cases involving car accidents. Those who survive their injuries sometimes seek the advice of these legal professionals when considering filing personal injury claims against the drivers who are thought to have caused the accidents in which they were involved. Some surviving victims choose to file claims in order to seek compensation for the damages they have suffered, knowing that successfully litigated cases can lead to compensatory awards that can be used to help alleviate the costs they have incurred in connection to the accidents.
