Several incidents occurred in a nursing home outside Hawaii that involved staff members. Four workers are alleged to have abused two different patients. One of the workers supposedly acted alone, while the others reportedly acted simultaneously in an attack a patient in an incident unrelated to the first one. Anyone suffering a nursing home injury caused by an employee may take immediate action by filing a personal injury claim in a civil court.
The first situation in the string of recent incidents involved a mentally disabled resident who was upset about the setting on the thermostat. He reportedly told his care provider that he was cold and tried to raise the temperature. The nursing home employee is said to have lowered the thermostat several times, while arguing with the resident.
At some point during the altercation, the worker may have pushed the resident, causing him to fall into nearby stairs. He later complained of a backache and was taken to the hospital for an examination. It was determined that the man had suffered three broken ribs. The employee said the man had slipped on a wet spot on the floor of his room.
The other situation unfolded after another mentally-challenged resident accidentally defecated on himself. This apparently angered three of his care providers, who are accused of knocking him to the ground, punching and kicking him in the stomach. A witness told police that the resident was crying and begging the men to stop hurting him. Any person in Hawaii who has suffered a nursing home injury at the hands of staff members may seek justice by filing a claim against those deemed responsible.
