PROTECTING THE LEGAL INTERESTS OF INJURED HAWAII RESIDENTS AND VISITORS SINCE 1973

Two fatal car accidents in Hawaii during recent weekend

The islands in Hawaii are constant sources of beauty, relaxation and recreation to residents and tourists alike. Large numbers of people often cause tremendous amounts of traffic. The more cars on the road, the higher chances are that car accidents will occur.

Authorities reported several collisions that took place on Hawaii Island during a recent weekend. One involved a 20-year-old woman who had been heading south on the highway moments before her vehicle crashed. While driving, she somehow veered out of her own traffic lane and into one with oncoming cars. Her car smashed head-on into another vehicle.

The young woman did not survive the injuries she suffered in the tragic collision. The other vehicle had been carrying a mother and her two children. The 38-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl and her 11-year-old brother were transported to an area hospital for treatment after the accident. Reports indicate that the girl and her mother have since been released, but it appears that the boy may be still in the hospital.

Sadly, another crash in Hawaii also resulted in fatalities. A motorcyclist is said to have run into a female pedestrian who had, for some reason, exited a vehicle in which she had been riding and was walking on the road. Both the pedestrian and the motorcycle operator were pronounced dead shortly after the accident occurred. When those believed to have caused car accidents do not survive their injuries, personal injury and/or wrongful death claims may be filed against the estates of the decedents.
