PROTECTING THE LEGAL INTERESTS OF INJURED HAWAII RESIDENTS AND VISITORS SINCE 1973

Addressing issues pertaining to multi vehicle car accidents

On Hawaii roadways and other areas of the nation, it is always especially devastating when several vehicles are involved in the same collision. Car accidents happen every day throughout the United States. When multiple vehicles are involved, there are typically more injuries and/or fatalities.

One tragic incident occurred just after 9 p.m. on a recent Thursday. Police say they were called to respond to the scene of a three-car collision. A 30-year-old woman was driving the car that appears to have caused the accident. Officers say it looks like she had initially been traveling in a northbound direction, but for some reason crossed the center line of traffic and crashed into another vehicle.

A Jeep that was struck in the southbound lane was driven by a 50-year-old woman. Her vehicle reportedly went into a spin upon impact and smashed into yet a third car on the road. Sadly, the woman in the first vehicle did not survive her injuries.

The driver and a passenger in the Jeep that was hit by the veering car were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the third car, a sports utility vehicle, apparently escaped the incident without suffering bodily harm. When those injured in car accidents in Hawaii seek recovery for their various losses, and the parties determined responsible have died, claims can be filed against the decedents’ estates. This type of claim often involves complicated issues which may be best addressed alongside experienced guidance.
