Bert S. Sakuda joined the firm in 1979. He is particularly interested in cases involving insurance, motor vehicle accidents and appellate advocacy. He has developed a reputation as one of Hawaii's leading litigators and authorities on insurance law. He is one of the most frequently called upon attorneys in Hawaii to provide education seminars and to testify at legislative hearings in the field of casualty insurance. He has been a member of legislative committees of the Hawaii State Bar Association, the Consumer Lawyers of Hawaii, and the American Bar Association Litigation Section. He was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court as a member of the Supreme Court's Standing Committees on Civil Jury Instructions, Appellate Rules, the Discovery Referee Committee and to the State of Hawaii Judicial Conference.
